Deetlefs Estate is the 4th oldest family owned wine estate in South Africa (Est. 1822) Deetlefs Wine Group consists of Deetlefs Wines (Pty)Ltd; Deetlefs Bottling (Pty)Ltd and Deetlefs Laboratory.

The Group has substantial experience in the production, bottling, packaging and dispatching of wines. A boldly individual approach, dynamic team, long term focus and mutually beneficial business relationships have created substantial growth that in turn has contributed to the creation of 30 additional permanent jobs over the last 4 years. On the environmental front Deetlefs leads the way in the South African wine industry by being the 1st to install a fully fledged biological wastewater treatment plant (SBR).

All our 2007 vintage grapes have been certified residue free by ISO/IEC 17025 standards. Deetlefs has also obtained BRC Accreditation as well as HACCP Certification. Deetlefs Estate was awarded the South African Airways Chief Executive Officer Trophy for the best winery in South Africa with the most listings in 2007. This trophy has previously been awarded to top wine producers such as Vergelegen and Rustenberg. Deetlefs was also runner up for the SAA Chairmans Wine Award for the largest volume purchased by the airline.

Five of Deetlefs Estates wines were listed with SAA for 2007 in Economy, First and Premium Class. At the 2007 Swiss International Air Lines Wine Awards the coveted Top Pinotage award went to gold medal winner Deetlefs Estate Oak Matured Pinotage 2005 (only 2 gold medals in this category). Deetlefs won the trophy for the best young Pinotage at the South African Young Wine Show for two consecutive years. It is the same Pinotage vineyards that are selected for various styles in all of the Deetlefs Ranges.
