Opstal Estates rich history dates back to 1847 when JC Rossouw acquired the farm De Opstal bij de Fonteine. Just over a century later, in 1950, Carl Everson, the visionary grandfather of the current vintner Stanley Louw, decided to continue making his own wine instead of joining the local co-operative winery.
Our Estate and its people are well known for their hospitality and friendliness. Through this we would like to extend a warm invitation to all our wine loving friends to come and visit us on the Estate.
